player information
name: kj
age: 32.

other characters: otabek altin.

character information
name: Ryo Asuka ; Satan
canon: Devilman: Crybaby
canon point: Episode 10 - as He's professing his love to Akira as Satan. This comes with the note that I asked about it with you - on having him be in his human form as Ryo Asuka. As he can reincarnate, I am having him return to his human form, so he's no longer appearing as Satan at end of Canon (while maintaining knowledge of it).

age: Satan - Ageless. His human form, as Ryo Asuka, appears to be in his late tees (18 years old or so). Mentally, he's much more mature than late teens (naturally, given who he is).

(canon) background: Devilman Wikia ; Episode Guide
(original) world: n/a

abilities: Most are summarized here; however, he's a quick summary as well as what I'd like nerfed.

He is able to heal at an unnaturally fast speed, enable plants to grow, materialize things (shown materializing water), create force fields (ie: when he's being shot at in canon), and levitate. He is Satan, so he has total world-ending powers (lighting bolts, fire light beams that have the capacity to rip planets in half), and he can reincarnate. He also, when he goes full - winged Satan, he also can fly, as one would expect one can do when they have wings.

I'd expect most of these to be basically eliminated (the reincarnation ability, lightning bolts, light beams, materializing, and flying/levitating - since he's in the form of Ryo and NOT Satan).

He doesn't really use powers frequently within the series (except when he's Satan). I'd have him keep his ability to heal at a rate faster than the average humans - since he does use this in the context of the series.

Also will nerf, but not eliminate, his forcefield abilities - so smaller and contained within 1-meter of himself - as he is shown using these when he's a "child", and I'd expect him to use them if he was pushed. The same would apply to his ability to help plants grow - nerf, but not eliminate (contained, small areas, and they grow at a slower rate).

strengths:
Ryo is a master manipulator. He is able to convince Akira, someone who is pure and kind, to go to a club with sex and drugs. Then he convinces Akira, once he becomes Devilman, to go fight other Devils - telling him that it's all he needs to do to help other people. Then he basically throws oil on a fire and helps insight a war with humans and demons (with an end goal to eradicate humans). He does this by revealing demons to humans, and then just letting humans go at it.

He's very smart. As Ryo Asuka, he advanced quickly though school, graduated young, and obtained his PhD. This not only says that he's really smart, but that he's also not afraid to put in the work required to get a degree. He teaches at a University. While this is important to know that he's not only book smart, he's also smart in regards to people. In fact, he knew all it took was a threat to them to cause them to fight and eliminate each other.

He's a great actor. He's managed to fool a lot of people into thinking he's a normal guy. Sure, he's a university professor, and got to be one when he was young, but otherwise seems normal. He's fooled a lot of people into believing he was totally human. He's fooled Akira, and they grew up together. He was good enough that Akira fully trusted him with everything.

Ryo is, finally, a survivor. While part of this is attributed to his ability to reincarnate, but also because he thinks the weak will always die, and that they should. He's willing to do what it takes to continue surviving (which is both good and bad) including to break the law and kill.

weaknesses:
While Ryo works with many people, his personal relationships are few and far between. In fact, his only friend through the series is Akira, which gives the impression he's a bit of a loner. While he appears on TV with interviewers, is with his caretaker - Jenny, and other coworkers, but these relationships are superficial, while he'd actually say he's friends with Akira.

He's probably a bit of a loner because he's apathetic towards most things - people's feelings, love, and romance. This inhibits his ability to form relationships. At the start of the series, you can hear Satan saying that there's no such thing as love. And then, through the series he constantly displays that he really only cares for his end goal - humanity's eradication.

While his logic and ability to survive is a strength, it's important to acknowledge where it can be a weakness. His willingness to do anything to survive means that he's willing to break the law, murder, hurt, and destroy. His perception, even from when he was "younger" was that if it is weak, it needs to die. While it is good to be logical, going around breaking the law and killing just because they're weak shows a weakness in himself - especially since he doesn't consider murder wrong.

Ryo is also a traitor - he sucks at loyalty. While through the series he had proven loyal to Akira and his goals to save people, in the end Ryo turned on him for the sake of his goals. In fact, he goes on TV and straight up tells everyone that Akira is a Devilman, and this results in people coming after him (and the death of many, many of Akira's friends).

job skills (optional): He's a professor, worked on archaeological sites, and - he'd add, he's good with a gun.
housing (optional): he prefers to live alone, so, put him wherever :)

[ He turns on the video immediately and smiles a bit into the camera. The smile, at the very least, appears to be sincere. He does appear to be quite young. ]

Hello, I'm Ryo Asuka. I have a couple of questions about this place. I'm looking for more personal experience versus the information they give once you arrive.

[ He smiles, propping his elbow on the table and then leaning into his hand ]

At home, I have a PhD and worked on on archaeological sites, so I'm a bit curious of the things that exist beyond the wall.

[ And here's the question he's been wanting to ask. ]

Is it dangerous? Would it be dangerous for me to go alone? I'd assume I should bring a gun of sorts. Be prepared to fight?

[ He leans into the camera. ]

Besides, it's hard to resist the desire to explore, especially when a wall is put up to keep us safe.

prose/action sample:
To say he wasn't happy about the events that led him here was an understatement. They told him it was because he needed a new home. While he was fine with the condition of Earth - humans having wiped each other out, with only him and demons. However, to Humans - it would seem uninhabitable. So of course they would bring him here to have a new life. He'd have to make the best of it until he found a way to get back to the place he had created, or he'd have to find a way to make this place more like his own.

It would be harder here, he knew. People here seemed to be from different places, he'd assume not everyone was from Earth. He'd have to learn and understand them before he'd be able to do anything. He'd have to learn about this place, too. It was why Ryo chose to go to the library for now. He'd learn as much as he could from both the books and people here. As much information as people were willing to give him.

He had dressed in his newly purchased clothes - all white, of course. A white shirt, drop crotch pants, and a large, white coat. It was just about to be spring, but that didn't bother him. Even if it got warm outside, he'd wear the coat. He wouldn't mind being warm for the sake of the style.

He also wanted to explore beyond the wall. He wanted to see what sort of creatures were here. He had heard it could be dangerous, but that wasn't really a good deterrent for him.

He stepped into the library, smiling to the individual working at the front. He nodded, then asked where he could find some books on the history here. She pointed him in that direction and he made his way there. He pulled a couple of books off the shelf, and decided he would be bringing them home. He'd get to spend the night reading quietly in the community housing.

He liked that idea. For now, at least.
